About

How can I help?

I began keithshull.com to serve churches who are overwhelmed by the process of finding their next pastor. I served as the chairman of our church’s pastoral search committee when we hired our current pastor in late 2016. I knew that other churches could benefit from our search committee’s experience (and missteps).

Although I’ve never served as a pastor, I’ve been in church leadership over 15 years. I serve as a Ruling Elder in a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in the metro Phoenix area. This has led me to grow keithshull.com beyond just pastoral search advice to all things around church leadership.

My heart is to teach and train (a.k.a. “disciple”) – I’ve been doing it both in the church and in my day-to-day work, for over 30 years. After receiving a seminary degree (M.Div.), I went to work in the K-12 education world – first as a teacher, and later as a curriculum developer. After more than 20 years in education, I moved into corporate training; now I create training materials for adult learners.

My goal with this site is to provide resources, tools, and advice for church leaders. If you are a pastor, elder, deacon, church planter, or if you serve Christ’s church in some other leadership position, then this site is for you.

I hope this won’t be a monologue, but a dialogue. I want you to give me your feedback in the comments section. I will read every comment and respond as time allows.

If you have a topic you want me to address, please leave a note in the Comments section.

I look forward to connecting with you!
